OUR FOUNDER

Trevor Read is the founder and curator of Adorn The Common, a diverse and inclusive platform dedicated to championing exceptional artists, designers, and creators from around the globe. Since its launch in 2018, Adorn The Common has been guided by creativity, inclusivity, and a clear mission, to give underrepresented and overlooked artists the visibility they deserve.

Art has always been in Trevor’s DNA. He first studied art and graphic design, only to take a 16-year scenic detour into the world of hairdressing and beauty, a career that honed his eye for detail, style, and storytelling. Eventually, he returned to his first love: painting, printmaking, and embroidery.

The spark for Adorn The Common came from conversations with fellow artists about the inequities in representation. What began as a personal website to sell Trevor’s own work quickly grew into a thriving creative space where artists and collectors meet over pieces that are as unique as they are meaningful. Today, Adorn The Common is where you go to find art that doesn’t just hang on a wall, it starts a conversation, makes a statement, and occasionally steals the show.

Trevor’s curatorial style blends heartfelt advocacy with a touch of playful flair, proving that art can be both deeply significant and delightfully unexpected, a lot like Trevor himself.
