About The Artist
Stanley Onah is a contemporary artist whose work explores ideas and concepts related to the human condition. Primarily his work is figurative, focusing on portraiture and the human figure.
Stanley is a British-Nigerian and was born and raised in London. Like so many artists, his interest in art began at a young age reading comic books and attempting to replicate the drawings. Although art has remained an interest throughout his life, he did not formally study art. It was much later in life at the age of 33 that he decided to take up painting.
Since then he has been working to develop his own visual language. In 2022 he completed his first solo series of work titled “Born Astride the Grave” and has recently completed his second solo series titled “Altered State,” which takes influence from post-impressionism and cubism.
